Make a difference today!
On October 17 2013 and throughout the month of October, Mutuals across Australia are getting together to celebrate the movement and help MAKE A DIFFERENCE to struggling communities in the Asia Pacific region.
If you can’t hold an event this year, then don’t panic! You can easily Make a Difference by hosting something on a later date in the year or contribute by:
- Liking and sharing us with your friends on Facebook or Twitter
- Making a donation to CUFA
- Becoming a Community Investor and helping a villager in Cambodia or Timor Leste break out of poverty www.ve.org.au
2013’s MAD Day is raising money and awareness of CUFA’s sponorship initiative, The Village program that helps people and families break out of poverty through microbusiness development. With the help of a sponsor a villager in Cambodia or Timor Leste will be given the skills and resources to start up and expand a small business so they have a sustainable source of income to support their family. All village entrepreneurs are members of their local savings bank.The majority of people living in the Asia Pacific live on just a few cents a day and financial cooperatives throughout the region are helping these people save their money, take out loans and build a better future for themselves, their family and their community – all with CUFA’s support. Let’s get together and celebrate the difference financial cooperatives are making to people’s lives!
