CUFA’s First All-Female Kayak Challenge Raises $10,000

Kirstie Salgram from Summerland Credit Union and Liisa Vann from Maritime, Mining & Power Credit Union have raised the bar with their $10,000 fundraising paddle to support Fijian communities in need.

The pair spent 10 days in June paddling their way between island communities, calling in on local Fijian credit unions and sharing their financial literacy skills with local children. But their main focus was getting a first-hand look at the damage suffered by villages in the wake of Cyclone Winston earlier this year.

Their amazing efforts are helping six families get life-changing support through CUFA’s Village Entrepreneur Program. Kirsty and Liisa return to Australia fully inspired and firm in the belief that individuals can change the world.

Vinaka (Thank you) Ana Drekeni, Luse Tamani and everyone involved for the amazing Kayak Fiji Leadership Challenge 2016!
