By Stephanie Brown, Marketing and Communication Manager CUFA

CUFA have an exciting addition to our Awards and Scholarships program for past Development Educators (DEs). Barry Epstein from the Credit Union Consultancy in the UK has extended their Joe Biden Award for Development Educators to candidates from Australia and New Zealand.

The award now invites applications from Development Educators from Europe, Africa, Asia and Australasia. Mr Epstein said that the inclusion of Australia and New Zealand Development Education graduates is in line with the aims of the worldwide Cooperative Commonwealth.

All qualified Development Educators who have completed their project in Australia/New Zealand are eligible to apply for the Joe Biden Award. Only Development Educators whose projects have started or extended into the period from 1 October 2012 – 30 June 2014.

The Award applauds the magnificent efforts of Development Educators the world over in their efforts to further the cooperative Commonwealth and honour the person who set up the first Development Education (DE) in 1982 – Joe Biden.

Award Winners receive a trophy, certificate and publicity on the DE listserv and will be invited to attend the award ceremony in the UK. The winner will be recognised amongst their Development Educator Peers from across the globe.
